Police recovered the partially decomposed hanging body of a 22-year-old housewife named Champa Khatun from a ceiling fan inside her locked room in Shivpur village under the Ekdanta union of Atgharia upazila, Pabna, on Sunday afternoon (September 27). According to preliminary police estimates, the woman died four to five days prior to the recovery. Local Ward No. 7 Union Parishad Member Amir Uddin confirmed the information, noting that the deceased was the wife of Aslam Hossain, an expatriate currently working in Malaysia. Local sources stated that neighbors detected a foul odor around the house on Sunday afternoon and alerted community members, who discovered Champa's body hanging from the ceiling fan. Upon receiving the news, police forces rushed to the scene to recover the body. Family sources revealed that Champa had been suffering from mental health issues, leading locals to suspect she committed suicide four or five days ago. Atgharia Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Najmul Haq stated that the body was sent to the Pabna General Hospital morgue for an autopsy and that the exact cause of death will be confirmed once the report is received.
