Police recovered a stolen 20-kg touchstone Kali idol, gold and silver ornaments, and brass statues taken from the traditional Old Kalibari Temple in Faridpur city, while arresting four individuals involved in the burglary. During a press briefing on Sunday (September 27), Superintendent of Police Shahriar Mohammad Miazi explained that after temple authorities locked the premises on the night of September 19, caretakers discovered on September 20 that the locks had been severed and the valuable artifacts stolen, prompting an official case at Kotwali Police Station. Using information technology and intelligence leads, police teams arrested Asaduzzaman Saddam and his mother Sajeda Begum from Alphadanga, along with Al Amin Mulla and Atiyar Rahman from Boalmari. Based on their confessions, police retrieved the touchstone idol and six brass statues from various locations, as well as nearly eight anas of melted gold from a local jewelry store where the stolen ornaments had been processed. The Superintendent of Police highlighted that solving this clueless theft and arresting the organized gang within six days represents a major operational success for Faridpur District Police.
