A 60-year-old farmer named Mokbul Hossain was beaten to death and at least three others, including his younger brother Dulal Hossain (50), were seriously injured in a violent clash over the possession of a government khas land in Charbhabkhali village, Bhanganamari union, Gouripur upazila, Mymensingh.

The incident occurred on Saturday morning (October 3) when Mokbul and his brothers went to sow mung beans on the land claimed ancestrally, prompting opposition from the sons of Amanat Mia armed with sticks and native weapons. Mokbul suffered fatal head trauma and was declared dead after being rushed to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.

Gouripur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Habibur Rahman confirmed that four women have been detained in connection with the incident, the body has been sent for autopsy, and police operations are underway to arrest the primary suspects as preparations for filing a case are underway.
