A fire broke out at the manufacturing plant of Ibn Sina Pharmaceutical Industry PLC in Sofipur, Kaliakair Upazila of Gazipur on Saturday afternoon (October 17, 2026).
According to Fire Service authorities, the blaze ignited at around 4:40 PM inside a building housing the herbal manufacturing section of the factory complex. Upon receiving emergency calls, three firefighting units from the Kaliakair Fire Station rushed to the spot to bring the flames under control.
Kaliakair Fire Service Officer Iftekhar Hossain Raihan Chowdhury confirmed that emergency response operations are actively underway. As of late Saturday afternoon, no casualties or trapped personnel have been reported, and the exact origin of the fire along with estimated structural damage remains under investigation.
