Following an intervention by a court judge, Munni Khatun (50), a mother from Santhia upazila in Pabna who was initially refused shelter and maintenance by her village police officer son Sagar Hossain, has finally returned to her son's home. Earlier, during a hearing on Thursday (October 8, 2026) before Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Selim Ahmed regarding the mother's written complaint, the son stubbornly refused to keep his mother with him and even threatened to commit suicide if forced to do so. A video of the incident at the UNO's office subsequently went viral on social media, drawing widespread criticism and catching the attention of the court.

Following a suo motu directive from the Judicial Magistrate Court of Pabna (Santhia Police Station Amli Court), Santhia Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Anisur Rahman brought both the mother and son to the court on Sunday afternoon (October 11, 2026). After hearing from both sides, the judge successfully resolved the dispute. Through the judge's mediation, Sagar Hossain realized his mistake, agreed to provide maintenance for his mother, hugged her in tears, and apologized, promising never to repeat such behavior. Both the mother and son expressed immense joy and gratitude following the resolution. bold
