A 4-kilometer unpaved road stretching from Dhalir Bazar to Naluabaghi Secondary School in Golakhali Union of Galachipa Upazila, Patuakhali, has fallen into severe disrepair, causing immense hardship for around 5,000 residents daily. During rains, the earthen road turns into knee-deep mud, leaving it completely impassable for vehicles and pedestrians alike. Local residents reported that critically ill patients often have to be carried on funeral cots to reach hospitals due to the lack of vehicular access.
School attendance has also taken a hit, as students and teachers struggle to traverse the muddy path to reach West Naluabaghi Government Primary School and Naluabaghi Secondary School. Local UP Member Abdul Kader Mia stated that the issue has been raised in upazila meetings and brought to the attention of higher authorities. Galachipa Upazila LGED Engineer Md. Habibur Rahman confirmed the road's dilapidated state and noted that a proposal for paving the road has been forwarded to higher authorities for approval.
