Police have recovered the hanging body of a 30-year-old youth named Hridoy Pramanik in Ishwardi, along with a handwritten note found beside the body. In the note, he blamed his wife Sumaiya for his death and accused her of murdering their newborn child.
On Sunday (November 1) night, his body was recovered from a rented house in the Diar Sahapur area of Sahapur union under the upazila. The deceased, Hridoy Pramanik, was the son of Anjarul Pramanik from the Maniknagar Madhya Para (Pathshala Mor) area of Salimpur union and worked as a truck driver by profession.
According to police and local sources, Hridoy lived with his second wife, Sumaiya Khatun, in a rented house owned by Chhabi Mondal in Diar Sahapur. Three days prior, following a family dispute, his wife had gone to her paternal home, leaving Hridoy alone in the house.

Receiving no response after repeated calls, Hridoy's mother was informed. Relatives and locals subsequently broke open the door and found Hridoy hanging from the ceiling beam by a scarf. Police recovered the body upon receiving the report.
The note found at the scene read, "Sumaiya is responsible for my death. Sharif killed my son. Please pray for me." According to relatives and locals, Sumaiya had given birth to a baby boy about a month ago, who passed away a few days later. Sharif, mentioned in the note, is the elder brother of Hridoy's second wife, Sumaiya. While exact details surrounding the newborn's death remain unconfirmed, the incident had reportedly caused anger and suspicion in Hridoy's mind.
Ishwardi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Ashadur Rahman stated that police recovered the body and took it into custody upon receiving the information. The body will be sent to Pabna General Hospital for an autopsy. A handwritten note was found beside the body, and an investigation into the matter is underway, with legal proceedings in progress.
