A human chain and protest rally were held in Shailkupa, Jhenaidah, to protest the obstruction of the janaza (funeral prayer) and burial of Valiant Freedom Fighter Manik Pashari by the collaborators of 1971.

The program was organized on Thursday (November 5) at around 10:00 AM at the Kabirpur Muktijoddha Sangsad premises in Shailkupa by the Shailkupa Upazila units of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad and Muktijoddha Sangsad Santan Command.

Participants at the human chain voiced their protest carrying banners and festoons.

Speaking at the event, leaders stated that obstructing the janaza and burial of a valiant freedom fighter is an extremely condemnable and tragic incident, emphasizing that it is everyone's responsibility to uphold the proper respect and dignity of freedom fighters.

Speakers further added that Razakars opposed the Liberation War and independence in 1971 and continue to conspire against Bangladesh today. However, as long as freedom fighters are alive, these conspiracies will not be allowed to succeed, because this is the Bangladesh of the Liberation War and Bangabandhu.

Notably, Valiant Freedom Fighter Manik Pashari hailed from Chitalia village under No. 5 Shankarpasha Union of Pirojpur Sadar Upazila. He passed away on October 24, 2026, and was buried in his family graveyard without receiving state honors. Nationwide human chains and protest rallies were organized as part of a centrally announced program to protest this incident.
