The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized Indian cosmetics worth Tk 17,58,250 during an anti-smuggling operation along the Jhenaigati border in Sherpur on Wednesday morning.

​According to Mymensingh Battalion (39 BGB) Captain Lieutenant Colonel Md. Nurul Azim Bayezid, a BGB patrol team conducted a drive in the Gazni border area based on intelligence inputs. During the operation, various types of smuggled cosmetics brought illegally from India along with a power tiller trolley were seized. The total market value of the confiscated items is estimated at Tk 17,58,250. Smugglers managed to flee upon sensing the presence of the border guards, and no arrests were made at the scene.

​Lieutenant Colonel Md. Nurul Azim Bayezid stated that BGB's operations to curb narcotics, smuggling, and illegal infiltration along the Sherpur border will remain ongoing.
