
A 35-year-old school employee was killed and two motorcyclists were injured after being struck by a speeding motorcycle in Ishwardi, Pabna. The accident occurred around 8:30 PM on Wednesday (September 30).
The deceased was identified as Raju Ahmed, son of the late Saimuddin Sardar of Charmirkamari Centerpara in Salimpur Union, Ishwardi. He worked as an office assistant (Daptari) at Alhaz Textile Mills High School. The injured motorcyclists are Husain (24) and Rabbi (25), both residents of Baraichara village in Ishwardi.
According to local and police sources, Raju Ahmed was standing near a culvert outside his home, talking on his mobile phone, when a speeding motorcycle travelling from Shekherdair to Sakregari violently struck him and dragged him nearly 20 feet. He suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex. The two injured motorcyclists received local medical treatment.
Ishwardi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Asadur Rahman confirmed the incident, stating that police recovered the body, completed legal formalities, and handed it over to the family. The motorcycle has been seized and impounded at the police station.
