
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami launched a cleanliness drive and distributed awareness leaflets in Pirojpur as part of a nationwide program to prevent the spread of dengue. Organized by Pirojpur Pourashava Jamaat, the campaign commenced on Wednesday (October 8) morning in Ward 5 of the municipality.
Pirojpur-1 MP Masud Sayedee inaugurated the week-long initiative. During the drive, party leaders and activists cleaned various mosquito breeding hot spots and distributed informational leaflets highlighting preventive measures against dengue to the general public. Pirojpur District Jamaat Secretary Zohirul Haq, along with municipal and district-level leaders, participated in the event.
Organizers stated that the seven-day campaign is designed to increase public awareness, identify potential Aedes mosquito breeding sites, and conduct thorough cleaning efforts to mitigate dengue risks in the locality.
