The Special Reserve Battalion (SRB) has arrested Md. Masudur Rahman Masud (40), an accused under investigation in the murder case of Ibrahim (35) in Boalmari, Faridpur, from Jhenaidah.
According to SRB-10 sources, late at night on November 20, 2025, while heading out for business, Ibrahim and his cousin, pickup driver Md. Hossain, stopped at a hotel in the Bhatiapara area of Kashiani, Gopalganj. As they came out after eating, 7 to 8 individuals arriving in two private cars identified themselves as Detective Branch (DB) personnel and forcibly bundled them into a vehicle. Their hands, mouths, and eyes were bound, and they were beaten and robbed of cash and mobile phones. Hossain was eventually dumped at an unknown location, while Ibrahim was taken elsewhere.
Investigations revealed that Ibrahim was subsequently murdered, and his body was dumped near the Bonchaki-Ramchandrapur bridge area in Faridpur's Boalmari upazila. Following the incident, the victim's brother, Md. Farhad, filed a murder case at Boalmari Police Station.
Based on a requisition by the investigating officer, SRB-10 intensified its intelligence surveillance. Leveraging modern information technology and confidential tips, Masudur Rahman Masud was arrested on September 28 at around 4:00 PM from the Porahati area of Jhenaidah Sadar Police Station. The arrested accused has been handed over to the relevant police station for further legal action.
