The long-standing sufferings of transport drivers in Gachbaria, Chandanaish, have finally come to an end with the establishment of a permanent parking stand initiated by Alhaj Jashim Uddin Ahmed, Honorable Member of Parliament for Chattogram-14. On Thursday afternoon (October 22, 2026), construction work for the parking stand was seen progressing rapidly near the Gachbaria Old College Gate adjacent to the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar highway.
This initiative is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion on the highway and facilitate smoother passenger commutes.
Transport association leaders and local drivers expressed overwhelming gratitude and joy, praising MP Jashim Uddin Ahmed as a pro-worker leader who has successfully fulfilled his pre-election promise by providing a dedicated and permanent space for vehicles that previously had to park hazardously on the roadsides.
