The voluntary organization 'Madsak Protirodhe Samajik Udyog' (Social Initiative Against Drugs) presented a commemorative honor to Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abu Sayeed at the DC conference room on Thursday afternoon (October 1) on the occasion of his transfer from Pirojpur. The event was held under the slogan "Awaken Now to Prevent Drug Addiction," highlighting the necessity of sustained anti-drug activities across the district.
Speaking at the ceremony, DC Abu Sayeed stressed the importance of collaborative action among administration, police, public representatives, journalists, and civil society to combat drug abuse, juvenile crime, eve-teasing, and cybercrime, as well as reclaiming canals and government land. Convener of the initiative and veteran journalist Md. Moniruzzaman Nasim Ali, Chief Coordinator Prof. Md. Shah Alam, and other key civil society representatives praised the district administration's recent support in conducting anti-drug rallies, awareness campaigns, and enforcing public safety measures across Pirojpur.
