A law and order consultation and preparatory meeting was organized by the Chandanaish Upazila Administration on Thursday (October 8) at 11:00 AM in the Upazila Parishad auditorium to ensure the peaceful, safe, and festive celebration of the upcoming Sharadiya Durga Puja. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Abdur Rahman presided over the meeting.

Key speakers included Assistant Commissioner (Land) Jhantu Bikash Chakma, Assistant Superintendent of Police (Anwara Circle) Mahmudul Hasan, Chandanaish Police Station Officer-in-Charge S.M. Didarul Islam Sikder, Upazila Social Services Officer Russel Chowdhury, and leaders from the Puja Udjapan Parishad.

According to meeting sources, Sharadiya Durga Puja will be celebrated across 94 mandaps and 41 ghat pujas in eight unions and two municipalities of Chandanaish Upazila this year. Comprehensive security measures were planned, including mandatory CCTV installation, adequate lighting, volunteer teams with ID cards, a 24-hour control room, enhanced police and intelligence oversight, and designated immersion points with traffic management.

Speakers highlighted Chandanaish as a model of communal harmony and urged citizens to remain vigilant against rumors or propaganda spread by vested interest groups on social media. Attendees were advised to report suspicious activity to authorities or call 999. Strict enforcement against drug abuse, eve-teasing, and noise pollution during the festival was also reaffirmed.
