Chandanaish police arrested three individuals wanted under GR and CR warrants, including one convicted by a mobile court, during a special operation in Chattogram.
The drive was conducted from 10:00 PM on October 7 to 8:30 AM on October 8 across various areas of the upazila under the guidance of Chattogram District Superintendent of Police Md. Masud Alam, BPM, and led by Chandanaish Police Station Officer-in-Charge S.M. Didarul Islam Sikder.
The arrested individuals are Mohammad Sohel (CR-59/23), son of Nurul Alam from Satbaria; Siraj Miah (45) (GR-2345/23), son of Sultan Ahammad from Paschim Allahabad in Kanchanabad UP; and Md. Zubayer Islam (Mobile Court Case No. 173/26), son of Abul Kashem from Harla.
Police reported that Md. Zubayer Islam was sentenced to a Tk 100 fine and 15 days of simple imprisonment under Section 36(5) of the Narcotics Control Act, 2018, in Mobile Court Case No. 173/26 dated Oct 7, 2026. The mobile court was conducted by Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Jhantu Bikash Chakma.
Chandanaish Police Station Officer-in-Charge S.M. Didarul Islam Sikder confirmed the arrests and stated that the accused were presented before the court under proper police escort. He added that such drives will continue to maintain law and order.
