A preparatory meeting was held in Dhobaura, Mymensingh, on Thursday (October 8) to ensure the peaceful, smooth, and festive celebration of the upcoming Sharadiya Durga Puja 2026. The meeting was held at the Upazila Parishad auditorium, chaired by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Mosharaf Hossain.

Discussions focused on maintaining law and order, bolstering security around puja mandaps, keeping power and communication systems operational, and upholding communal harmony during the festival.

Attendees included Assistant Commissioner (Land) Muksudus Salehin, Dhobaura Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Shafiqul Islam, Upazila BNP Convener GM Azharul Islam Kajol, Member Secretary Anisur Rahman Manik, Senior Joint Convener Moazzem Hossain Khan Liton, UP Chairman Jakirul Islam Tuton Talukder, former Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Abul Fazal, Dhobaura Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Md. Abdul Halim, NCP Coordinator Atiqur Rahman, and Upazila Puja Udjapan Committee President Subhash Chandra Biswas, along with leaders from political, social, and religious organizations.

Speakers emphasized coordinated efforts among the administration, law enforcement, political parties, and local leaders so Hindu devotees can celebrate without disruption. Attendees were also urged to stay alert against rumors or untoward incidents.
