Md. Nurul Alam, Chandanaish (Chattogram) Correspondent: A mobile court in Chandanaish, Chattogram, fined a fish vendor 10,000 taka and seized and buried approximately 17,000 taka worth of toxic sea fish mixed with banned and harmful chemical dyes to make them look attractive at Gachbaria Khanhat Market.

On Wednesday afternoon, October 7, 2026, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Abdur Rahman led the mobile court operation following secret intelligence regarding traders using chemical coloring agents.

Operating under the Fish and Fish Products (Inspection and Quality Control) Act, 2020, the fine was levied with the assistance of Upazila Fisheries Officer Md. Tanvir Ahsan. UNO Md. Abdur Rahman stated that activities detrimental to public health will not be tolerated, and public interest drives the continuation of such market monitoring.
