In two separate incidents, two individuals—Shahadat (59) and Rakibul Islam (25)—committed suicide by hanging themselves in Ishwardi. Both incidents occurred on Monday (November 2).
According to neighbors and police sources, unemployed youth Rakibul Islam committed suicide around 8:00 AM in his own room by tying an ourna around his neck to the bamboo rafters, driven by emotional distress over an issue with his mother in Maniknagar under the upazila. He was the son of Dulal Hossain from that area.
In another incident, reports emerged of the suicide of Shahadat Hossain (59) in Sahapur union of the upazila, which took place in the early hours of Monday (November 2).

A devout person who performed regular prayers, he left his house early Monday morning under the pretext of performing ablution. Later, family members discovered his hanging body from a litchi tree near the house. Family members stated that he committed suicide by hanging himself from the tree.
Regarding the matters, Ishwardi Police Station's Investigation Officer Jamal Uddin and Sub-Inspector Shahidul Sardar stated that upon receiving the news, police rushed to the spot and gathered details. Unnatural death (UD) cases have been recorded regarding the suicides.
