In a tragic incident at Birampur in Dinajpur, the bodies of two young children were recovered after they drowned in a pond near their home. The deceased were identified as Maliha Jannat (2), daughter of Humayun Kabir, and Tahiya Jannat (3), daughter of Tarikul Islam, both residents of Uttar Katla village in Katla Union. The incident took place around 9:00 AM on Thursday (October 1).
According to local sources, the two neighboring children were playing together in the yard in front of their house before suddenly disappearing. After searching the surrounding area, villagers found their bodies floating in a nearby pond. Birampur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdur Razzak confirmed the incident, stating that police visited the scene, and a General Diary (GD) was filed by the family before the bodies were handed over to them.
