A woman and her child were allegedly pushed across the Phulbari border in Dinajpur into Bangladesh by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) early Tuesday morning (October 6, 2026). The incident occurred around 5:30 AM near the Jalpaitoli BGB camp in Ward No. 3 of Eluari Union, Phulbari Upazila, roughly 20 yards from border pillar 303/5-S via India's Zakirpur area. Local UP member Matiar Rahman identified the victims as Sultana Begum (40)—wife of Muhin Islam from Andarkot village under Darogabazar police station in India's Ajmer district—and her 8-year-old daughter Aleya, both possessing Indian Aadhaar cards, who subsequently took shelter in the border's Banahar area after local authorities and the BGB were alerted. Although 29 BGB denied any such push-in occurrence, eyewitnesses on the ground reported that BGB members were attempting to send the duo back to the Indian side, sparking a stir among local residents.
