A workers' rally was held in Savar demanding a 6-point charter of claims, including the formation of a new wage board, implementation of fair wages by December, control of commodity prices, reopening of closed factories, an end to illegal layoffs, and withdrawal of harassment cases against workers. The rally took place at 11:00 AM on Friday (October 2) in front of Rana Plaza near the Savar Bus Stand.

Chaired by Rafiqul Islam Sujon, President of the Bangladesh Garments and Industrial Workers Federation and Shromojibi Oikya Parishad, the event featured veteran worker leader and Freedom Fighter Abul Hossain as the chief guest. Addressing the rally, leaders demanded an immediate six-month maternity leave for female workers, low-cost permanent rationing, and clearance of all unpaid wages and benefits. Warning of larger democratic movements if their claims are not met by December, the rally concluded with a protest march along the Dhaka-Aricha highway ending at the Savar Model Mosque.
