Special Sessions Judge Abu Saleh Mohammad Salahuddin Khan also slapped a fine of Taka 10,000, in default of which he will face an additional two months of rigorous imprisonment. According to case details, Ishwardi police detained Mizanur—son of Hashem Pramanik from Char Gargari village under Ishwardi upazila's Sahapur union—in 2013 with the contraband syrup, prompting a formal case under GR No. 109/13.
The convict was present in court during the verdict delivery and was subsequently sent to jail, with State Counsel Advocate Raziullah Ranju confirming the judgment and Advocate Shafiqul Islam representing the defense.
