A young man named Nur Arafat Mollah (34) was hacked to death by opponents over a prior enmity in the Naragati Police Station area of Kalia upazila, Narail.

According to Narail District Correspondent Uzzal Roy, the incident took place late at night on Monday (October 5) around 11:00 PM in Debdun village under Naragati Police Station.

The deceased, Nur Arafat Mollah, was the son of Mokidul Mollah from Debdun village of Naragati Police Station.

Locals reported that opponents called Nur Arafat out of his house at night and subsequently inflicted severe injuries by hacking him indiscriminately. When female members of the family tried to rescue Arafat, the attackers assaulted them as well. Later, locals rescued Arafat in a critical condition and took him to Kalia Upazila Health Complex, where the emergency department doctor declared him dead.

Narail Naragati Police Station Officer-in-Charge Hossain Ali stated that Nur Arafat had a long-standing dispute with opponents centering around land property and drug trafficking. It is primarily suspected that this murder may have stemmed from those disputes. The deceased had more than 10 cases and 6 arrest warrants pending against his name.
