A drug-addicted youth named Suman Hossain (32) was hacked and stabbed to death by miscreants in Malanchi union of Pabna Sadar upazila.
The incident took place around 5:30 PM on Sunday (October 4) in the village of Bil Bhaduria under the union.
The deceased Suman Hossain was the son of Rabiul Islam from Bil Bhaduria village.
Additional Superintendent of Police in Pabna, Sakhawat Hossain, confirmed the matter.
He stated that Suman was brutally killed with sharp weapons. Police have been dispatched to the scene upon receiving the information. The victim's father mentioned that he was a drug addict.
However, the immediate motive behind the murder and the identities of the perpetrators are yet to be known. Police are working to uncover the details of the incident and identify those involved.
The body has been recovered and kept at the Pabna General Hospital morgue for autopsy. Legal procedures regarding the incident are currently underway, the additional superintendent of police added.
