Ten students of Chakamaiya Betmor Secondary School in Kalapara, Patuakhali, suddenly fell ill on Wednesday (October 7, 2026). The incident began at noon when a 10th-grade student named Jakia Sultana fell ill while at school, and nine other students fell sick one after another while trying to help her.
They were subsequently rescued and admitted to the Kalapara Upazila Health Complex. Following a similar incident involving students falling ill at Dhankhali ME Secondary School earlier, deep concern has arisen among parents, although the exact cause of the illness remains unknown.
