Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon has announced that four new subjects will be incorporated into the class six curriculum starting in 2027. The subjects are Joyful Education, Technical Education, Sports, and Culture.
The Education Minister made these remarks while responding to journalists' questions on Tuesday morning after inaugurating the 53rd National Summer Sports Competition at the Comilla Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium.
He stated that students from class six onward will be engaged with joyful education, technical education, sports, and culture. Additionally, necessary changes and modifications will be made to educational activities starting in 2028. Considering requirements, more new books will also be introduced, he added.
Meanwhile, special guest and Prime Minister's Advisor Mahdee Amin said that gas and oil prices have increased significantly in the country due to the Middle East war. However, compared to neighboring countries, the price of diesel in Bangladesh remains much lower. Efforts are being made to keep fuel prices under control by providing the highest subsidies compared to other nations.
He mentioned that the government is making its utmost efforts to tackle the situation. However, the current crisis is global, and the government is working toward solving the problem logically while placing the least possible pressure on the public.
Housing and Public Works Minister Zakaria Taher Sumon, MP, was present at the event as a special guest.
Among other invited guests were Madrassa Education Department Director General Md. Shahadat Hossain, Technical Education Department Director General Abul Khair Mohammad Akkas Ali, Comilla City Corporation Administrator Md. Yusuf Molla Tipu, Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education Director Md. Sakhawat Hossain Khan, and Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka Chairman Syed Akhtaruzzaman, along with officials from various departments.
Comilla Education Board Chairman Professor Md. Ahsan Parvez presided over the program.
Students from all education boards across the country participated in the competition.
