DHAKA — Every government primary school in the country will serve a cooked midday meal from January, covering some 14 million children in the largest school-feeding expansion ever attempted here.
Pilot districts recorded higher attendance and better concentration within a single term, officials said, with dropout rates falling fastest among girls.
Mothers' groups will oversee local kitchens, turning the programme into both nutrition and rural employment.
