The production of "Dada," the biographical film based on former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly, has run into controversy following pitch damage caused during filming at the Grace Road ground in Leicestershire, UK.

The production team recently filmed scenes recreating Ganguly's historic 2002 Lord's celebration at Leicestershire's home ground just four days before the start of the County Championship. Head groundsman Callum Lewin reported that ground staff were prevented from covering and maintaining the pitch during prolonged shooting sessions in hot weather. The extended exposure left the pitch severely cracked, leading to dangerous and uneven bounce during subsequent official matches. As a result, the ECB Disciplinary Committee penalized Leicestershire County Cricket Club by deducting 19 championship points earned from the match, imposing an additional 8-point penalty, and levying a €5,000 fine for venue mismanagement.
