Legendary Indian cinema actor Nana Patekar passed away at his residence in Goa early Thursday (October 8, 2026) following a sudden cardiac arrest at the age of 75.
According to medical reports, the iconic actor was rushed to a local hospital where doctors performed CPR for approximately 45 minutes before pronouncing him dead at 5:20 AM. Patekar's son, Malhar Patekar, who was in Pune at the time of the incident, immediately departed for Goa upon receiving news of his father's demise. The tragic passing comes just four days after Patekar made an emotional public address on October 4 at the Samrat Club International in Dona Paula, Goa. Dressed in a white kurta and scarf, Patekar reflected on life, mortality, and civic duty while honoring his late friend and former Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, poignantly stating, "I do not know if I will be alive tomorrow. Everyone must reach the end of life, but before that, one should ask oneself whether they accomplished what they intended." Patekar also stressed social responsibility and political decorum in his final speech, emphasizing that while citizens should voice disagreements respectfully, society must extend beyond immediate family boundaries to give back to the community.
