“What All One Must Do for Two Pennies”: Koushani Mukherjee Enthralls Fans as Fishmonger for Bohurupi The Golden Daku Promotions
Tollywood actress Koushani Mukherjee in character as Jhimli during a promotional campaign for Bohurupi The Golden Daku, scheduled for nationwide release on October 15.

Tollywood actress Koushani Mukherjee has sparked widespread intrigue across social media following a promotional campaign for her upcoming film Bohurupi The Golden Daku, directed by Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy.

Slated for theatrical release on October 15, 2026, the film serves as a sequel to the hit feature Bohurupi, bringing Koushani back in her popular avatar as 'Jhimli'. In a promotional video titled "Jhimli from Chhachharapur Platform No. 1 turned Fishmonger," the actress appears in a de-glammed look with dark makeup, simple saree, and tied hair, enthusiastically hawking fresh fish to passersby. Humorous behind-the-scenes footage reveals the actress struggling with traditional cutting knives (boti) while exclaiming in jest, "I'm ruined, I'm destroyed! What all one must do for two pennies! I never thought I'd have to become a fishmonger in life." Once the director called action, Koushani seamlessly slipped into character, calling out market prices and urging customers to buy fresh Silver Carp.
