DHAKA — A nationwide oral history project has recorded the testimonies of 5,000 freedom fighters and war witnesses, racing a clock measured in failing health and fading recall.

University volunteers conducted the interviews in 40 districts, digitising photographs, medals and handwritten diaries alongside.
