DHAKA — All 13,000 community clinics will offer free diabetes screening from next quarter, officials announced, as surveys show one in ten adults now lives with the condition — half of them undiagnosed.
Positive cases will be referred to upazila hospitals with a free first consultation and subsidised medication.
Health economists estimate early detection could save the system Tk 800 crore a year in avoided complications.
