Bangladesh Bank Reports Over $2.87 Billion (৳34,670+ Crore) Remittance Inflow in October
Bangladesh Bank reporting robust inward remittance growth for October 2026.

Expatriate Bangladeshis sent home over $2.87 billion (287.40 million US dollars) in legal remittances through banking channels during the recently concluded month of October, amounting to more than ৳34,670 crore at an exchange rate of ৳124.11 per dollar.

Updated monthly statistics released by Bangladesh Bank on Sunday, November 1, 2026, reveal that inward remittances for the fourth month of the current 2026–27 fiscal year recorded a 12% year-on-year growth compared to $2.564 billion recorded in October of the previous year.

During the first four months (July–October) of FY2026–27, total cumulative remittances reached $11.47 billion, reflecting a 13% increase over the $10.15 billion received during the corresponding period of FY2025–26. Monthly inflows stood at $2.86 billion in July, $2.96 billion in August, $2.76 billion in September, and $2.87 billion in October. Economists and central bank officials note that government initiatives against illegal hundi channels, enhanced cash incentives, and simplified banking services are successfully driving expatriates toward legal remittance channels, boosting foreign exchange reserves and stabilizing import payments.
