Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) spokesperson Hossein Mohebbi warned on Monday that the world would be "surprised" by Iran’s new military capabilities and advanced weaponry if the United States launches any fresh attacks.
In an interview with local media cited by Al Jazeera, Mohebbi stated that a new US strike would prompt significant strategic shifts in Iran's defense and counter-offensive tactics. These shifts would include expanding the geographical scope of the war, deploying novel arms, and targeting previously unassigned locations.
Mohebbi claimed that the US suffered a historical defeat in the conflict, pointing to Washington's inability to reopen the blockaded Strait of Hormuz despite deploying its full force. He further noted that US military bases across the Middle East, including intelligence sites in the Persian Gulf and northern Iraq, have become liabilities rather than security assets. Amid the escalating rhetoric, Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed al-Ansari confirmed that Qatar is actively mediating between Tehran and Washington to bridge differences and resume diplomatic talks.
