The Royal Malaysian Customs Department has intercepted a massive international drug consignment bound for Dhaka, recovering 161 kilograms of heroin and 246.65 kilograms of cocaine hidden inside an air compressor at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).
The seized narcotics carry an estimated street value of 12.39 million Malaysian Ringgit, equivalent to approximately Tk 374 crore. Malaysian Customs Director General Datuk Seri Amran Ahmad officially confirmed the monumental bust during a press briefing on Thursday (October 15, 2026).
According to customs officials, acting on confidential intelligence tips, officers launched a targeted raid on October 12 at the KLIA cargo terminal. They inspected a suspicious wooden crate containing an industrial air compressor machine. Upon dismantling the machinery, officers discovered numerous concealed sacks packed with high-purity heroin and cocaine. Preliminary investigations revealed that the contraband was booked for freight transport directly to the Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka. Malaysian customs authorities have launched an intensive transnational investigation to dismantle the international drug trafficking syndicate behind the shipment.
