At least four people were injured following a series of explosions at a Syrian military ammunition depot in the Al-Eis area of Aleppo early Monday morning (September 21).
Civil defense teams rescued the injured individuals and transported them to local hospitals shortly after the blast. Faisal Mahmud Ali, head of the civil defense operations department, noted that rescue operations faced brief delays due to secondary explosions occurring in rapid succession at the site.
Local authorities, including Aleppo Governor Azzam al-Gharib, advised residents to remain indoors while emergency services, ambulances, and hospitals across the city were placed on maximum alert. The Mayor of Aleppo confirmed that roads adjacent to the blast site have been cordoned off to ensure public safety.
The cause of the explosions remains unknown. The administration led by President Ahmed Sharaa has yet to issue an official statement regarding responsibility or the precise circumstances surrounding the recent surge in similar depot incidents across Syria.
