In separate anti-narcotics drives in Patiya and Satkania upazilas of Chattogram, elite law enforcement agency RAB-7 seized 33,428 contraband Yaba tablets valued at approximately BDT 1 crore and 30 thousand.
The developments were announced in a official press release signed by RAB-7 Assistant Director (Media) A. R. M. Mozaffar Hossain on Friday afternoon (September 25, 2026). The operation, conducted on Thursday afternoon, resulted in the arrest of three individuals: Md. Akib (21) of Lohagara, alongside Md. Jasim Uddin (50) and his wife Rima Begum (35) hailing from Chandraganj, Lakshmipur.
According to RAB-7, officers established a checkpoint on the Cox's Bazar–Chattogram highway at the Hasmat Dokan area in Satkania at around 3:15 PM following a tip-off. Upon searching an unnumbered green CNG auto-rickshaw, personnel uncovered 31,000 Yaba tablets wrapped in scotch tape hidden behind the passenger seat, detaining driver Akib. Earlier at 2:30 PM, another checkpoint in front of Mega International Hall at Kamal Munshir Hat in Patiya led to the interception of a Dhaka-bound 'Tisha Platinum' bus. A search of passengers Jasim Uddin and Rima Begum revealed 2,428 Yaba pills concealed around their waists. The seized narcotics and arrested suspects have been handed over to respective local police stations for legal proceedings.
