A 360-kilowatt (kW) capacity solar power system has been installed at the Kishoreganj Deputy Commissioner's office, reducing the office's electricity expenditure by approximately one-third.
The information was disclosed from the Deputy Commissioner's office on Tuesday (November 3).
According to sources at the Kishoreganj Deputy Commissioner's office, the government has undertaken multi-faceted initiatives to alleviate public suffering amidst the country's energy and power crisis, maintain stability in power supply, and ensure long-term energy security. As part of this, a target has been set to generate 20 percent of the country's total electricity demand from renewable energy by 2030 and 30 percent by 2040. Aligned with the government's initiatives to expand renewable energy usage and save electricity, a 360 kW solar power system has been installed at the Kishoreganj DC office.
