4-Day Low Gas Pressure Alert Nationwide from Nov 4 to 7 Due to Summit LNG Terminal Emergency Maintenance
The offshore Summit LNG Terminal in Moheshkhali, Cox's Bazar, where regasification operations have been temporarily paused for emergency maintenance.

Gas supply across Bangladesh will experience a noticeable reduction for four consecutive days, from November 4 to November 7, due to emergency maintenance work at the Summit Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU) located in Moheshkhali, Cox's Bazar. The announcement was formally communicated via an official press release signed by Petrobangla Deputy General Manager (Public Relations) Tarikul Islam Khan.

According to the official directive, regasification operations at the Summit LNG Terminal will remain completely shut down from 8:00 AM on Wednesday, November 4, until 4:00 PM on Saturday, November 7.

As a consequence of this temporary shutdown, daily gas supply injected from the terminal into the national grid will drop from 920 million cubic feet per day (MMCFD) down to 600 MMCFD, creating a daily net shortfall of 320 MMCFD. This reduced volume will lead to temporary low gas pressure across residential, commercial, and industrial consumer connections nationwide. Petrobangla noted that similar maintenance was successfully conducted in December last year and expressed sincere regrets for the temporary inconvenience caused to citizens.
