Additional DIG (Supernumerary) Abdullah Al Zahir of the Repair and Maintenance Branch of Police Headquarters has been made Officer on Special Duty (OSD).
The transfer order was issued on Tuesday (October 20, 2026) by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md. Ali Hossain Fakir, reassigning him to the headquarters branch with immediate effect.
This development follows a Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) police raid on Monday night at his property in the 300-feet area of Dhaka, where officers recovered various drugs—including Ice, Shisha, Yaba, liquor, Ganja, and Kush—and detained 84 people, including 26 women, amidst evidence of illegal DJ parties and antisocial activities.
DB Additional Commissioner Shafiqul Islam confirmed the operation, while Additional DIG Zahir claimed the property was rented out for a birthday party and that the renters had violated building rules without his involvement.
