Administrative Official Md. Basir Ahmed of Keraniganj has strongly protested against what he termed completely false, baseless, and motivated news circulated recently via WhatsApp, demanding an immediate halt to online propaganda against him.
In a formal protest statement, Md. Basir Ahmed stated that the report, propagated through an alleged news operative, completely lacked any factual verification. He pointed out that the news was published unilaterally without taking statements from either the complainant or the accused party regarding the concerned matter.
He noted that he assumed office as an administrative official in Keraniganj only two months ago. Within this short tenure, publishing such misleading reports was clearly done with the malicious intent of fulfilling personal vested interests, he claimed.
The statement emphasized that objective fact-checking and incorporating the perspectives of all concerned parties are core principles of journalism. Unilateral reporting without verification severely tarnishes the professional and social reputation of a government official.
Terming the circulated reports entirely false and groundless, Md. Basir Ahmed expressed deep condemnation and urged all concerned to refrain from publishing such misleading and motivated propaganda in the future.
