The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh has issued a strong statement condemning the lethal Houthi rebel attack targeting King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which claimed the lives of two Bangladeshi expatriates and left several others critically injured.
According to a press release issued by the Ministry in Dhaka on Sunday (October 11, 2026), the deadly strike took place on Saturday (October 10), resulting in widespread civilian casualties. Saudi Civil Aviation authorities confirmed that at least 12 people were killed and over 300 injured in the attack. The deceased include four Saudi citizens, two Bangladeshi nationals, and one citizen each from the United States, Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Sudan, and Egypt.
Denouncing the targeting of civilian infrastructure and innocent lives as entirely unacceptable, Bangladesh called for an immediate cessation of hostilities and urged a peaceful diplomatic resolution to regional conflicts. The Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh is actively coordinating with Saudi authorities to secure detailed information and provide full assistance to affected Bangladeshi families, while Dhaka reiterated its steadfast solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
