
News Content: Bangladesh has sought strong support and active cooperation from Bhutan to revitalize the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) in order to bolster regional integration and ensure collective welfare.
The diplomatic call was made during high-level discussions held in Dhaka, coinciding with the transit visit of Bhutan’s Prime Minister. During the talks, both sides fondly recalled Bhutan’s historic role as one of the first nations to recognize independent Bangladesh in 1971.
The leaders reviewed the long-standing friendly ties, multifaceted bilateral cooperation, and mutual interests spanning trade, connectivity, and sub-regional development, emphasizing the need for renewed collaborative efforts within the South Asian framework.
