Bangladesh Strongly Condemns Houthi Drone Attack on Saudi Arabia's Taiba Power Plant in Medina
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka issues an official statement expressing solidarity with Saudi Arabia following the attack on Medina's power infrastructure.

The Government of Bangladesh has issued a strong condemnation following a drone attack launched by Houthi insurgents targeting the Taiba Power Plant in the holy city of Medina, Saudi Arabia.

In an official press statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday (October 4, 2026), Bangladesh underscored that deliberately targeting civilian energy infrastructure—which critical facilities, including the Prophet's Mosque (Al-Masjid an-Nabawi), rely upon—is completely unacceptable. The statement stressed that any assault directed toward or jeopardizing the sanctity of Islam's holiest sites cannot be tolerated under any circumstances. Reaffirming its diplomatic posture, Bangladesh expressed unwavering solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in its efforts to defend its national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and civil security. Dhaka further reiterated its firm rejection of all forms of aggression that endanger regional peace, cross-border security, and Middle Eastern stability.
