The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided to discover and nurture untapped cricket talent across the three southeastern hill districts of the Chattogram Hill Tracts (CHT). Recognizing that rugged terrain, geographical isolation, and logistical hurdles have kept mainstream cricket out of reach for many youngsters in the region, BCB director Sirajuddin Mohammad Alamgir stated that the board aims to integrate more players from ethnic minority communities into the national cricket system.

Proposed measures include establishing residential dormitory facilities in Chattogram, expanding training opportunities, and providing financial support.
