Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman departed Dhaka on Saturday (October 3, 2026) for a nine-day official visit to Australia and the United States to participate in premier international defense forums and hold bilateral meetings with senior military officials, according to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release.

During the first leg of his visit in Australia, General Waker-Uz-Zaman will attend the "Chief of Army Symposium" and the "Land Forces International Defence Exposition 2026" held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre in Perth. He is also scheduled to visit Deakin University in Melbourne to discuss academic and research collaborations. Following his engagements in Australia, the Army Chief will travel to Washington D.C., United States, to attend the "Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting & Exposition". Throughout the two-nation tour, General Waker-Uz-Zaman will hold courtesy meetings with top military leadership and defense officials from both countries, alongside inspecting key military installations to strengthen bilateral defense cooperation, strategic ties, and professional military exchanges.
