Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen paid a farewell call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the Prime Minister's Office in Dhaka on Monday morning (September 28).
At the beginning of the meeting, the Chinese ambassador congratulated the Prime Minister on his successful participation in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly and the successful completion of various programs in New York. Discussions were also held regarding the Prime Minister's potential upcoming visits to several countries.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman emphasized further expanding trade, investment, and development cooperation between the two countries. He also highlighted key issues of mutual interest, including the ongoing Rohingya crisis.
Ambassador Yao Wen stated that China would continue to support Bangladesh's development journey and expressed hope that the bilateral relations between the two nations would grow even stronger in the days to come.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir, Investment Bangladesh Authority Chairman Ashick Chowdhury, and Chinese Deputy Chief of Mission Liu Yuyin, among others, were present during the meeting.
