In a major law enforcement sweep across the region, Chittagong Range Police arrested 376 individuals during a 24-hour drive conducted under a targeted anti-narcotics initiative and routine policing operations.

According to an official departmental report released on Friday (October 2, 2026), the arrestees include 95 suspects in fresh cases, 48 in pending cases, 65 under general warrants, and 12 under conviction warrants. Furthermore, 49 individuals were apprehended on drug consumption charges, alongside 43 identified narcotics dealers. A specialized mobile court sentenced 15 offenders to varying prison terms and imposed monetary fines. During the division-wide operations, law enforcement officers registered 30 new narcotics cases and confiscated a substantial volume of illicit substances, including 17,188 Yaba tablets, 11.72 kilograms of cannabis, 17 liters of homebrewed liquor, 96 bottles of Phensedyl syrup, six bottles of foreign liquor, and Tapentadol tablets. Police authorities confirmed that heightened vigilance and anti-narcotics operations will continue across all districts under the range.
