Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister M. Rashiduzzaman Millat paid a surprise visit to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in Dhaka late Friday night (October 2, 2026), ordering airport authorities to rapidly increase the supply of baggage trolleys and enhance overall passenger services.

Arriving at the airport around 10:30 PM, the Minister personally inspected the baggage belt zones and interacted directly with arriving passengers waiting for their luggage. Minister Millat inquired about wait times, delivery efficiency, and general airport experiences. According to a statement from the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, several passengers expressed satisfaction regarding recent improvements in baggage delivery times. Emphasizing that passenger comfort and service quality must remain top priorities for airport management, the Minister instructed officials on duty to address trolley shortfalls immediately and maintain seamless coordination during peak arrival hours to prevent operational bottlenecks.
